How do I place my order?

It’s very easy to place an order. Firstly make sure you’ve seen all we have to offer: on our homepage you can browse by design or by product type. Choose a category from the navigation bar on the left hand side of the site and click on it. You could also browse by clicking on any of the product groupings found at the bottom of the homepage, such as ‘Gifts for Girls’ or ‘Bestsellers’. Once you see an item that you’d like to purchase, just click on its image, then ‘Add to Cart’ (beside the price) to put it in your basket. You can continue to browse, and view your cart at any time by clicking on the button in the top right hand corner (drawing of a basket). When you are ready to pay, just click ‘checkout’ and follow the instructions. We use WorldPay which accepts debit & credit card payments in multiple currencies – it’s completely secure and safe, and instructions on screen will guide you through the process. What kind of payments do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards, and we use WorldPay which is safe, secure and fast. We can also accept payment in multiple currencies.  We also have the option for you to pay securely via PayPal.

How secure are WorldPay and PayPal for paying online?

WorldPay uses state-of-the-art Secure Socket Layer (SSL), Thawte and proprietory encryption systems to ensure that you are protected at all times when making a purchase. When you fill in the payment form and click the submit button, your details are not sent straight away. What actually happens is that a secure link is set up between your browser and WorldPay and an encryption code is requested and received, which then wraps the order and transaction details before leaving your computer. The encryption code is extremely difficult to break. The end result is shopping online through WorldPay is probably safer than using your credit card at a shop or traditional outlet. Likewise PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available). Do I need a PayPal account to make a purchase from Gillian Kyle.com?

Not at all, you do not need to have a PayPal account to purchase from us: you can make one-of payments by entering your card details in the normal way via both WorldPay and PayPal. Of course if you already have a PayPal account you can certainly use it.

If I buy something as a gift, can I have it sent directly to the recipient? 

Yes, you certainly can.  All you need to do is put the items that you want to send directly to them into your shopping basket and then select the country they are in, when you are prompted.  This will calculate the postage/shipping charge for the products chosen.  Then when you are asked to fill in the 'delivery address' please insert the address of your friend/family member.

Is it possible to send items to Australia/Canada/New Zealand/USA etc?

Yes, you can send direct to almost anywhere in the planet from our website - we ship worldwide.  In fact, a huge proportion of what we sell on the website is being sent to friends and family living abroad who like to be reminded of home!  e.g. For a couple of items to be sent to New Zealand, the shipping charge would be £8.50 - which reflects the pure cost of the shipping - we don't make any profit on postage costs.  All you need to do is fill up your shopping basket, then before checking out, remember to select the destination country so that the postage can be calculated for the order's destination.  For more detailed information on our Shipping charges, please see the Shipping & Returns page which can be found at the bottom right-hand side of the homepage.

I've received my order but changed my mind. What is your exchange policy?

We take a huge amount of care to ensure that the descriptions, photographs and specifications on our website are as accurate as possible, however, please note that many of our goods are hand screen-printed on natural, organic cloth and this can result in slight variations in colour and print.  If you would like to exchange your goods for another item of equal value (a t-shirt in a different size for example), then please fill in the returns form included with your order accordingly and post your items back to us to be received within 14 days (if longer than 14 days please contact us before returning the goods).  If you would like to exchange for an item of different value please contact us before returning your item.  As you would expect, we cannot refund or exchange used or damaged goods (apart from those damaged in transit to you - this does not affect your statutory rights), and all goods returned must be in 'as sold' condition.  For your own protection, you are strongly advised to obtain proof of postage or shipping when returning goods to us - whatever the reason for the return.  Goods being returned to us but lost in transit remain your responsibility and proof of posting documentation will help you track any delivery which is reported as lost, damaged, mislaid or otherwise undelivered/undeliverable.

I've received my order but changed my mind. What is your returns policy?

We take a huge amount of care to ensure that the descriptions, photographs and specifications on our website are as accurate as possible, however, please note that many of our goods are hand screen-printed on natural, organic cloth and this can result in slight variations in colour and print.  If you decide that you would like to return your order for any reason within 7 days we will be happy to refund the value of the goods using the same method as the original payment - please complete the returns form supplied with your delivery and return the items by post (to arrive with us within 14 days of delivery to you) to the specified address: Gillian Kyle Ltd, c/o Commands, 500 Duntreath Avenue, Glasgow, G15 8TD.  If you would like to give us some feedback about the products or the service you have received, please let us know by filling in the form here so that we can do our best to make it right for you.  

I am interested in selling your items in my shop - how can I find out more?

If you buy for somewhere special and are interested in becoming a Gillian Kyle stockist we would love to hear from you.  All trade enquiries should be made via email to sales@gilliankyle.com, and should include the name, location & a brief description of your business, a web address if applicable, and a phone number we can contact you on.  We carefully consider each trade account request and will get back to you within a few days to take things forward.

What are your Terms & Conditions?

Ok, here comes the small print.... please be aware that these terms do not supersede your statutory rights under the Sale of Goods acts, but are designed to clarify the principles by which we operate here at Gillian Kyle Ltd. Every care has been taken to ensure that the descriptions, images and specifications of each product and service are correct on our website. However, as we use a number of natural materials and employ hand screen-printing techniques a degree of natural variation will occur from item to item. 

Currency

All prices shown on this website are in Pounds Sterling and are inclusive of VAT. Credit cards sales will be charged in your local billing currency by your credit card provider. From time to time data entry errors or other technical problems may result in inaccurate prices being shown: in such cases we are not required to honour this price, although we may choose to do so depending on the circumstances, and we will endeavour to be fair to both parties. If you see any price you believe to be incorrect, please contact us so we can verify it for you. 

Shipping/Carriage 

The final price quoted on the payments page is the price of the goods including delivery to the stated destination. These charges include carriage by UK royal mail or other designated carrier. Most orders are dispatched using Royal Mail's 2nd Class service, although during the busy Christmas period we will use the 1st Class service. Courier delivery can be arranged and will be charged accordingly. We aim to deliver within 3-5 days of receipt of your order. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee that all items will always be in-stock, although we do try our best to keep stock-levels updated. If an item you have purchase is out of stock we will advise you of an anticipated delivery date - if this is unsuitable and we cannot supply an appropriate alternative, we will happily refund your payment. 

Local Duties and Taxes 

As the purchaser, you are responsible for any duties and/or taxes levied at the point of entry into the destination country. An invoice is provided with all shipped orders. 

Damage & Loss in Transit 

It's a frustrating fact of life that things do get lost or damaged in transit. If this happens with your order, please advise us and we will send replacement goods immediately. However, since we never knowingly ship damaged goods we may need your help to try to recover our costs from the carrier wherever possible... If you do receive damaged goods, please retain all relevant documentation in case we decide to make an insurance claim against the Royal Mail or the carrier's insurers. If you receive a damaged or bashed parcel, please take a note of the fact (or even better a photograph) before you open the package to examine the contents. If this is a courier delivery and you are unable to open the damaged package in the presence of the courier, make sure that you sign for it as 'damaged package; goods not yet inspected' or similar to facilitate any claim we later make. Whatever the circumstances, please contact us by email at hello@gilliankyle.com with as much detail as you can provide, as soon after delivery as possible. Please do not return damaged goods unless we ask you to do so. 

Cancellation (UK Residents Only) 

In accordance with EU Legislation, UK residents (only) may cancel their contract to purchase goods by formally notifying us within a period of seven working days of delivery, provided that the goods are immediately returned to us at the following address (to arrive within fourteen days of you originally receiving them): Gillian Kyle Ltd, c/o Commands, 500 Duntreath Avenue, Glasgow G15 8TD. Goods must be in 'as sold' condition. In the event of cancellation under this legislation a full refund, including shipping costs, will be given within thirty days of our receipt of the returned goods, using the same payment method as the original transaction. 

Payment and Retention of Title 

All goods must be paid for prior to dispatch. If, for any reason, goods are shipped prior to clearance of payments, title in the goods shipped belongs to Gillian Kyle Ltd until payment in full for the goods has been made by you and received by us, at which time title will be transferred to you. Legal ownership of the goods will immediately revert to us if we refund any such payment to you. Risk in the goods will pass to you on delivery to you. 

Confidentiality 

We undertake to make all reasonable efforts to keep information supplied to us by customers strictly confidential. We do not share our mailing list or shipping information with third parties (with the exception of those third parties employed by us in managing and shipping our orders) but do use it to advise our customers of goods and services offered by us that may be of interest and value to them, unless expressly instructed otherwise in writing. Information supplied to us may be stored on a computer system for our convenience. Our secure credit/debit card payment gateways WorldPay and PayPal provide a service that is completely independent of our organisation and your credit card details are not divulged to us at any time. 

Applicable Law and Courts of Jurisdiction 

All transactions undertaken through this website are governed by Scottish Law and any legal actions arising out of such transactions shall be subject to Scottish legal processes and under the jurisdiction of Scottish courts. 

Legal Statement 

Gillian Kyle Ltd's total liability for any claim howsoever arising shall not exceed the price of the goods supplied by Gillian Kyle Ltd to the customer. Gillian Kyle Ltd is registered in Scotland under the Companies Act 2006; Company Number SC396789. Our registered office address is; Gillian Kyle Ltd, Unit 3 @ Studio 17, 1103 Argyle St. We can be contacted by telephone on 0141 248 8702, although all initial contact should be made via email (hello@gilliankyle.com) as we are frequently out of the office and this will guarantee the fastest response.
